Dundee
Dundee Espresso Lab, Commercial Street. A specialty operation with a baked-goods counter that treats cannoli as seriously as extraction times. City-centre position, ideal for waterfront cool-downs.
Henry's Coffee House, Dundee. Independent, cosy and central, pouring classic and specialty brews with toasties and waffles on standby. The armchairs will attempt to keep you. Let them.
Mana, Dundee. Regularly rated among Scotland's best specialty spots, with flat whites people cross the city for. Order one and watch your average pace stop mattering.
Brewery Lanes Coffee Roaster, Dundee. An artisan roaster working through an ever-rotating list of single origins from around the world. For the runner who logs coffee origins the way they log splits.
Broughty Ferry
Visocchi's, Gray Street. A Broughty Ferry institution — an Italian café that has been serving coffee and celebrated ice cream for generations. Esplanade miles, then an affogato. That's science.
Arbroath
Webmor's Coffee Shop, Arbroath. A welcoming local spot where the coffee is fresh and nobody blinks at sea air and cliff-path mud. The correct end to a Seaton Cliffs run.
Pair it with the run
Camperdown parkrun for the Saturday fix; Dundee Law for the city's shortest, meanest climb and its best view; the Tay waterfront past the V&A for flat esplanade miles; Broughty Ferry's esplanade when you want the sea alongside you; and the cliff path north out of Arbroath towards Auchmithie for red sandstone drama and honest gradients.
